The words don’t write themselves. If they did though, I wouldn’t sit here, scared. I tell you why I’m frightened. It’s because I never written anything before. Nothing. I have literally, never written anything that someone, except from teachers and friends of course, would or could read, so if you are reading this you’re the first to ever read my open writing.
It’s so different writing to a friend, “Hi mate C U TMRW?!” than writing this open blog post. Perhaps it has to do with what Patrick Collister from Creative Matters told us, a word doesn’t necessarily mean the same to you as to me. It isn’t just words. Our interpretation of words can be so different – that is, by the way, why we’re rewriting briefs if anyone forgot. It’s also why writing freaks me out. When it’s so easy to be misunderstood. To not use the right word. How can I know that people don’t get me terrible wrong? And get offended or incredibly bewildered?
The way out is pictures. They are my savers when it comes to explanations. But they are not going to save me always. I have to learn how to express myself precise with words as with pictures. Behind a good add is a good teamwork, which needs words to communicate as well as pictures. Just as Ying need Yang, Earth need sun, bees need honey, butter needs bread, lateral thinking needs vertical thinking, cake needs sugar, fish need water, cigarettes needs fire, Bond need babes, Jimi needs a guitar, Whiskey need coke…
I’m dreaming of learning new words. As speaking two languages shouldn’t be enough confusion, as it certainly is, I do plan to learn Spanish. Good luck. My first step is to write my next blog-post in Spanish. Let’s see how that goes…
Week need End.
Go’ Weekend!
