A lesson in time management.
Since I started at the SCA we have been encouraged to challenge convention and break the rules. We’re also taught the importance of making the most of our time. And with multiple briefs on the go, time is definitely at a premium. So, when my girlfriend joked that she could write my blog post for me I thought it was too good an opportunity to pass up. So, without further ado, take it away, Nicola Perry…
‘Behind every mad man is a mad woman
What you don’t know is I that think I’m at SCA too. I never imagined I would be as absorbed into the advertising world as I am now. Looking for insights, building personas and finding strategies have become part of daily life at Farley Towers. I also see what bloody hard work it is! It’s like a long distance learning course for me and even though I won’t get accredited I’ll use some of the things I’ve learnt. I listen to Dave Birss’s podcast on the way to work and get plenty of opportunities to apply Rory Sutherland’s theories on behavioural economics in my job in marketing. John Hegarty’s ‘do interesting things and interesting things will happen to you’ has become the mantra for my social life. So thanks SCA for not knowingly taking me along with you on an enlightening free ride! ‘
Thank you Nic for that charming snapshot of our exciting home life. Now I don’t really expect anyone to believe this but while she was writing I cracked a problem on a brief that I’ve been wrestling with for months. That felt good. I also managed to pick my outfit for Halloween.
Getting someone else to do my homework? Guilty. Thinking laterally? Guilty again I hope.
