THE QUALIFICATION

THE FIRST NATIONALLY ACCREDITED QUALIFICATION WRITTEN BY AN INDUSTRY USING WIKI, DELIVERED BY AN INDUSTRY IN A WORK-SIMULATED ENVIRONMENT.

The School has partnered with University of the Arts London Awarding Body to create a brand new Diploma in Communication Arts, written by the advertising industry and the full curriculum can be found here as a wiki, where it is constantly being updated by our network of mentors and students.

We are a very small school with only 30 students. But we have more than 400 teachers.

Our course prepares its students for a career either as a copywriter, art director or an ideapreneur. (We know that the word ‘ideapreneur’ doesn’t officially exist yet. But people are making a good living being ideapreneurs, so it makes sense to teach it.)

The diploma is categorised as a Level 4 within the National Qualifications Framework, and is delivered over  78 weeks: one year in the school, followed by several industry placements. It is deliberately intense, challenging and full-on because the day to day of being a copywriter, art director or ideapreneur is intense, challenging and full-on.

Agencies tell us that our students are “leagues ahead” of any other advertising college. You can judge for yourself by looking at our students’ work and comparing it to other colleges.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no fixed rules about what qualifications you need  to win a place at the School. If you are planning on going down the Art Director pathway then we will want to see evidence of visual flair whereas if you are planning on going down the Copywriter pathway then we will want to know that you can do more than just string a sentence together. Some of our current students joined us straight from University, whereas others fell out of mainstream education before stumbling upon our School. A few have given up jobs to learn with us, because they craved a career change and want to work in advertising.

We run a selection process designed to help us find what we are looking for. Apply now for more information.
