ual The School has partnered with University of the Arts London Awarding Body to create a brand new Diploma in Communication Arts. This qualification has been written by the advertising industry and the full curriculum can be found here on this website.

The course prepares its students for a career either as a copywriter, art director or an ideapreneur. (We know that the word ‘ideapreneur’ doesn’t officially exist yet. But people are making a good living being ideapreneurs, so it makes sense to teach it.)

The diploma is categorised as a Level 4 within the National Qualifications Framework, which pitches it somewhere between A-Levels and a degree. We have designed the diploma to be delivered in 78 weeks: one year in the school, followed by six months of industry placements. It is deliberately intense, challenging and full-on because the day to day of being a copywriter, art director or ideapreneur is intense, challenging and full-on.

This isn’t one of those art degrees where students get to doss around and watch The Jeremy Kyle Show for three years.
