Need Help?

We have set up a Get Satisfaction forum for mentors. If you need help contributing to the wiki, or if you have any questions, then this is the place.

Below are the three pathways that we are focusing on – copywriter, art director and ideapreneur. These pathways are made up of lots of units. There is a curriculum wiki for each of these units. That’s where we need your help!

Hopefully this will all make sense to you. But if not, then ask anything on our mentor’s forum here.

Please choose from one of the three pathways below;

Copywriters Pathway

Art Directors Pathway

Welcome

smaller me biogWelcome to our curriculum wiki. This is something we believe is an industry first. A working curriculum designed collaboratively and openly by the industry for the industry.

We have designed the outline of three pathways, one is called the Ideapreneur pathway, one is for Copywriters and the last is for Art Directors. This is similar to the old school but the addition of the Ideapreneur pathway reflects immediately how we have re-created and re-cast the old college in the new light of the twenty first century.

One thing has become apparent, creating a curriculum such as this using traditional academic processes has become very difficult. In fact some of you have contributed already but balancing the needs of the awarding body with our desire to be revolutionary means that we have decided to embrace the open-source model and apply it to curriculum development.

So, how can you help? Well,  we invite you to take part by doing one or all of several things.

Firstly we would love you to sign up here and add content to any course unit that you feel you can help with. That content can be hyperlinks, book references, PowerPoint presentations or anything you want to write. You can also create new subpages using the wiki software should you wish.

We also would ask you to add any new units that you think need to be included. If you do that it would be helpful to also add what you think the student will get out of the module in terms of learning (what are known as learning outcomes).

And finally we would invite you to ask anyone else who you think could add value or content to the curriculum to come and join in. We have made the site nice and social, so that you can easily forward pages to your network.

As mentors you are central to the way the school will run. It would be great if you browse and also maybe indicate which units you would like to be attached to as a mentor. This will help me greatly in organizing how the courses will run on a day to day basis.

Again, it’s great to have you involved. If you have any questions then mail me on richard(at)radams.co.uk

About “Units”

In submitting this course to UAL for validation, we need to provide them with what are called learning outcomes among other things. So if you add units could you give some thought to creating two or three points that show what we expect to learn in the unit and that we can use as basis for assessment? For example if you were writing the pitching unit, what three or fours things would you expect a student to know in order to be able to pitch successfully? What things would you look for in a successful pitch? This isn’t essential for you but would help us write the finished units.
