Unit Purpose and Aims
The purpose of this unit is to;
This unit will equip the student with a range of tools to help them generate business ideas for potential spin off businesses and services.
Learning Outcomes
Learners will;
1. Understand a range of approaches used by businesses for generating ideas.
Learners can;
1.1Â Â Identify a business problem and the causes
1.2 Demonstrate evidence of focussed thought to solve that problem
1.3. Explore parallel ideas and solutions
1.4. Demonstrate evidence of continual thinking/note taking
1.5 Describe at least 3 different approaches used by businesses to solve their problems.

2. Understand the role of continual idea generation in business
2.1 Describe how to integrate idea generation into business operations.
2.2 Describe how to feed the results of idea generation to the rest of the business.
