Unit Purpose and Aims

The purpose of this unit is;

Learners will examine standard product development methodologies used within creative businesses and why they are used.

Learning Outcomes

Learners will;

1. Be able to use a range of  techniques for generating ideas

Learners can;

1.1 Develop a relevant SWOT analysis

1.2 Create an opportunity analysis

1.3 Demonstrate how these criteria can be used to select an idea from the  results of a brainstorm

2. Understand the  importance of concept development and testing

2.1 Examine how much budget might be applied to concept development.

2.2 Explain a number of feasibility testing techniques.

2.3. Undertake business analysis for a given product

3. Understand the importance of beta testing and market testing

3.1 Explain what beta testing is and describe how a given product might be tested in a market

3.2 Explain why  constant beta testing is increasingly being used by interactive media companies.

3.3 Explain what an iterative process is and why they are used
