The purpose of this unit is to help learners;

This unit will take the learner through the concepts and practices of social enterprises.

Learning Outcomes

Learners will;

1 Understand what a social enterprise is and what makes a social enterprise distinct from another business

Learners can;

1.1 Describe what social enterprises bring to society and the  economy.

1.2 Explain the key legal and operational features of a social enterprise.

1.3 Describe what affects the success or failure of social enterprises.

2. Know how to find support

2.1 Discover what support is available for people starting social enterprises

3. Understand competitive advantage

3.1 Evaluate and present what the main sources of competitive advantage are for social enterprises.
