It’s My Party – Competition Rules
Here is where you can read everything you need to know about the School of Communication Arts scholarship competition, It’s My Party;
- The competition is called “It’s My Partyâ€
- We want you to come up with an idea for a single-issue political party (e.g. Scrap the M4 Bus Lane)
- We want you to make a party political video (or cartoon, or Flash movie, or anything multimedia)
- Upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo
- Embed the link to your video in the competition application form and describe your party
- Make your video go viral (we have embedded some great tools to help you seed your party on most of the popular social networks)
- The competition runs until the General Election is settled
There will be three scholarships awarded to the winners of this competition;
- for the single-issue political party that gets the most votes
- for the single-issue political party video that gets the most views
- for the single-issue political party that our judges decide is most creative
Some things that you need to know;
- We will remove offensive (e.g. racist or homophobic) videos immediately, so don’t bother trying!!
- We assume that you own copyright to your video. Please make sure you aren’t breaking any laws.
- We reserve the right to share your video with news media, and we may ask you to attend interviews with news media.
Some things to consider;
- Looking for inspiration? We sponsored a question on Telegraph.co.uk that might give you some inspiration.
- Tap into your social networks (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, MySpace) and get your friends watching your video
- Make sure your friends vote for your video.
- Beg your friends to share your video within their social network.
- Try and get your video seeded on blogs to get more hits.
- Let your local news media know that you are entering this competition. This might help you get more views and votes.
- Spread the word off line too!! Talk to people about your video. Maybe hand out flyers with your URL.
