Unit Purpose and Aims

The purpose of this unit is to;

This unit exposes the learner to the importance of awards in advertising and how they are used for self and corporate marketing.

Learning Outcomes

Learners will;

1. Understand the range of awards across the advertising industry.

Learners can;

1.1 Explain the importance of awards to an agency

1.2 Explain the importance of awards to an individual.

1.3  Explain which awards have direct relevance to particular types of agency or individual for example a copywriter might enter different awards to an art director.

1.4 Identify key awards in different sectors and describe when they occur and key timings related to entries.

2. Know how to use awards to market their own businesses.

2.1 Devise a plan showing how the award will be used in marketing the agency or individual

2.2  Create an entry for an actual award making sure all relevant information is collated and that it is then presented in a format suitable for the chosen award.
