Unit Purpose and Aims

The purpose of this unit is;

This unit will help learners to understand what market research is and why it is used by creative businesses. They will also examine what types of research are undertaken and who the main companies in the market place are.

Learning Outcomes

Learners will;

1.  Understand what market research is and why it is used by creative businesses.

Learners can;

1.1 Describe what market research is and the types of research that are routinely used

1.2 Critically compare and contrast the different types of research.

1.3 Describe  who the big market research companies are and what techniques they use.

1.4 Explain why market research is used by creative businesses

2. Understand how to use market research

2.1  Explain how they would market research an idea

2.2 Describe how to feedback market research results into a product development process.
