Why Apply?

Over lockdown three, the landlords at Pop Brixton sent out messages letting all tenants know that they would not be charged rent or services.

Everyone – copywriters, art directors, creative technologists and planners – learns together in our virtual studio, where we aim to simulate a real-world working environment. We describe it as a bit like a mash-up of Zoom and Minecraft.

This generous act by a landlord, of forgoing rent during the lockdown, has helped our school save enough money to fund a full London scholarship.

The Scholarship would suit any creative person, passionate about pursuing a career as a creative within our industry, we do not look for formal qualifications, academic achievement, or high levels of experience. We are looking to support a passionate, interesting person looking to pursue a creative career.

The applicant will enter our standard recruitment process, with one lucky recipient being invited to attend our 10-month course starting in September (course fees of £16,500 will be fully covered by the School).

Summarising the ways SCA helped me is probably the hardest brief known to man. Basically, without that one year at SCA, I wouldn't be working and living abroad, making creative work that fulfils me every single day.

SCA gave me a different (better) kind of education which genuinely changed my life. Since school I've worked both in the USA and UK, continued to mentor, and built some amazing relationships with some of the industry's most talented creative people.

Application Process

We take selection very seriously, because we want to ensure that it is the right course for those who apply and that the industry knows SCA graduates are always the best new talent entering the industry. If your Decent Landlord application form is successful, you will be invited to book a 15-minute call. On the call you can discuss your talents and career aspirations. We will also answer any questions you have about the school, the unique learning experience and the success of past alumni within their chosen fields.

If it is a good fit you will be invited back to deliver a 4-minute presentation to students and teachers. Don’t panic. We won’t be expecting you to present lots of ads or anything like that, we just want to find out a bit more about you and your passions. Your presentation can take any form you like, so long as it can be delivered online. You could share a video, talk to us live, show some presentation slides or blow us away with some ventriloquism. Every week, we are inspired by how inventive, passionate and unique our prospective students are.
