How Exciting

Last Monday my friend offered me to go to the one and only IMAX cinema in Estonia to watch Assassin’s Creed. My first concern was that this movie is based on a VIDEO GAME (!!!). A video game where the most exciting thing to do is to leap off tall buildings into piles of hay. Straightaway I did some research and found out that it’s rating on IMDb is 6.6, which is a bad sign. Films that have less that 7 are usually not good. So my counteroffer was to watch Bad Santa 2 instead. And although Bad Santa’s rating is even worse (5.5), it’s a comedy. I find it funny when a comedy movie isn’t funny. My friend declined my offer immediately and offered Passengers as an alternative. I saw the trailer of Passengers before and wasn’t impressed to say the least. Having agreed that Assassin’s Creed and Passengers have equal chances of being shit, we decided to watch shit in 3D IMAX. The ticket costed 9,50 euros. The movie was shit.

Fortunately, unlike in case of ads, the success of a particular movie can be measured pretty accurately by box office results. Therefore the chances of seeing Assassin’s Creed 2 are below zero. On the other hand the average quality of movies there days is so low that it became a normal thing when there’s no single good film to watch at the cinema. What a time to be alive!

A good news is that yesterday I watched A Cure for Wellness trailer and now I’m sure that there will be at least one good film to watch in 2017. To be honest I’d rather pay 9,50 to watch this trailer instead of the whole Assassin’s Creed movie.
