TAKING A BREAK

So we had our first week off after starting at the SCA, I don’t know about you but I needed this time off, we were way too busy last term! I really didnt have any time to do anything else but work.

Are we liars? I know I am, but are you? I suspect you are, I suspect like me you told yourself you have been too busy, you need a break. Which made me think about that saying, ‘too busy’, I don’t like it. I say it way too much, its starting to feel like an excuse for not being able to manage my life and the course correctly due to in all honesty, laziness.

We can all give a bit more, we don’t have to look at Facebook or Twitter for 10 minutes in-between every sentence we write. I recently read an article about time management and it talks about the ‘too busy syndrome’ and offers a solution that will give you the ability to become aware, productive and happy. Which is what I wanted to share with you today. (Seeing as I don’t have the article to hand ill have to just give you the general gist of it).

Being ‘too busy’ is not a good thing, it doesn’t impress anybody, always remember its a negative experience.

The article thinks of ‘too busy’ as a state of mind more then anything literal, it says we need to eliminate the idea of being busy. Eliminating this means you’re in absolute control of your life and time management skills.

To do this we need to just be honest with ourselves, are we really ‘too busy’? Are there really not enough hours in the day to accomplish what we need to? I think 99% of the time there are we just want to believe we are ‘too busy’ as we (for some reason) think its a good thing to tell people.

I just feel a lot of us suffered last term from telling ourselves this over and over again, lets all make an effort to manage our time better and be honest with ourselves, we will all be happier for it.
