A homage to some teams at SCA

There are a few teams at SCA that have inspired me to do better work and I want to show them the respect they deserve by kissing their ass for a bit. This way, when I’m kicking their ass, it doesn’t hurt as much. 

Jay and Alex – I’ve got start with them because I just made fun of them to their faces. Alex consistently has copy that blows me away. It’s witty, irreverent, and spot on. If he wasn’t in the class, I might settle for my first headline, but I don’t, because he is. And Jay’s visions are unlike many I have seen. I love watching him draw and I knew as soon as he paired up with Alex that was going to be a team that produce unique and never before seen work. 

Scarlettt and Chloë – You freaking Dons. Your wall, flowers, candy, all of it. It pissed people off. I mean really, I think it seriously pissed a few people off. And I freaking love it. You are both aware of how to get where you need to go by any means necessary. Without you, I might play it safe. I might rely on my charm, but apparently I can’t do that because I can’t imagine any mentor walking out of this room not remembering who you are. That’s based on your work and your personalities. 

Tommy and Oliver – These two Flonks (if you don’t know, you don’t know) work only feet away from Alice (my “art director”) and me. I’m always afraid that these two are going to come up with an idea like vanta black – wild, revolutionary, and freaking awesome – then our idea will look like beige. Their minds are insane – Oliver is a way that will make him billions, Tommy in a way that may see him getting away with murder. 

Ellie and Elisa – You two work only INCHES away from Alice (my “friend”) and I. You guys are work horses. Somehow you turn out so much work, I honestly don’t know where you find the time to do it. And normally, when someone is churning out work at the rate you two do, it would be weak work, but that’s not the case. You churn out tons of work and tons of really good work. You guys must have Hermione’s time turner necklace to do the things that you do. 

Sam and Ivan – I would love to be a fly on your window. To listen to the conversations that you’re having would be a privilege. You could probably record them and release it as a Netflix comedy special (although, to be fair, everyone gets a Netflix comedy special.) We can tell that while you work, you’re having fun, you’re making each other laugh, and in turn you’re making us laugh. It’s only a matter of time before I admit you might be funnier than I am. 

To the teams that aren’t on this list: It doesn’t mean that I don’t keep a threatening eye on you or pray for your failure. I want you all to crash and burn.
