SCA delivers apprenticeships from inside the industry, which allows us to provide an impactful programme to develop entry-level talent and upskill and reskill people at all career stages.

At SCA the apprenticeship programme will be delivered over 22 months and will start at Level 6 (degree level).

We have called our course SCA Creative Mastery because everyone who completes our course will acquire mastery in something that sets them apart from everyone else.

Your apprentices are going to get the full SCA experience that over the last 13 years has consistently delivered the best new talent into the industry.

SCA gave me a different (better) kind of education which genuinely changed my life. Since school I've worked both in the USA and UK, continued to mentor, and built some amazing relationships with some of the industry's most talented creative people.

The Course

Everyone – copywriters, art directors, creative technologists and planners – learns together, where we aim to simulate a real-world working environment.

Everyone – copywriters, art directors, creative technologists and planners – learns together in our virtual studio, where we aim to simulate a real-world working environment. We describe it as a bit like a mash-up of Zoom and Minecraft.

You will get into the practice of working in teams from day one, and although many students have a clear idea as to which creative pathway they want to follow, we find quite a few change their minds. And that doesn’t just mean that copywriters become art directors, and vice versa. The focus on strategy and planning within the course means a number of students choose to follow careers as strategic planners. Our overall emphasis on ‘finding your personal creative vocation’ has led to students branching out into careers in PR, illustration and filmmaking.

Many students join us without any pathway in mind, but just feel the school is right for them – and it’s a pleasure to take them on that voyage of discovery. By the end of the 10 month course, SCA graduates are seen by the advertising industry as being the most employable copywriters, art directors and strategic planners.

Being very dyslexic, traditional education never worked for me. Being at SCA opened my eyes to what education could and should be. I went from a guy with 2 A-levels to a student pencil winner who worked at Google in a year.

SCA gave me a different (better) kind of education which genuinely changed my life. Since school I've worked both in the USA and UK, continued to mentor, and built some amazing relationships with some of the industry's most talented creative people.

Application Process

We take selection very seriously. It’s important to us that we make sure it’s the right course for those who apply, we also need to be confident that our candidates are a right fit for us as the industry knows SCA graduates are the best new talent entering the industry.

The first step of the application process is to book a 15-minute call with SCA Dean, Marc Lewis. On the call you can discuss your talents and career aspirations. We will also answer any questions you have about the school, the unique learning experience and the success of past alumni within their chosen fields.

If it is a good fit you will be invited to attend one of our Selection Days so we can find out more about how you think, and work with others. You’ll join us for a whole day to immerse yourself in our world, working with other candidates on fun tasks and briefs. It’s also a great opportunity to meet our faculty and current students for an absolutely honest view of what the course is like, and have any questions you have honestly answered.

Our Selection Days run every month and we are always inspired by how inventive, passionate and unique our prospective students are.
