Ok, well there’s plenty time isn’t there? – By @katiebcreates
Ok, well there’s plenty time isn’t there?
I’ve been completely stuck for what to write about this week. The irony is that there’s so much going on in the world. There’s so much to talk about. I was scanning through my phone, looking at messages. The most recent text on my phone reads “Ok, well there’s plenty of time isn’t there?” Now, this message was actually about getting something out of the freezer for dinner tonight but for this SCAB I’m going to take it out of context and respond to that question.
No, I don’t feel like there is plenty of time and I’m realising more and more that life is about making the most of the time you’ve got. Our portfolio day is so close. These past few months have gone by so quickly. It’s not an exaggeration to say that it feels like yesterday we all started on this journey. Now with 8 weeks to go I know it’s essential for me to make the most of the time I’ve got left.
Sometimes it feels like you have no time. Sometimes it feels like the years go by in an instant. Then sometimes time can feel like it stretches out forever. With everything that’s going on in the world at the moment, I can imagine that for a lot of people it feels like time is against them. How much time has to pass before it really feels like there’s been change.
Will the time we’ve spent in a locked down world change things for the better? Or will this period in time feel like it never happened once things begin to feel more ‘normal’? I hope not.
I certainly feels like this time we’re in is a pivotal moment in humanity. And while it feels like time runs away from us so often, it’s so important to take the time to pause, think, listen, learn and reflect so we can make the most of time going forward. That’s just it. Time is looking back at what’s gone before, it’s making the most of now and it’s planning for time that hasn’t occurred yet.
I’m not sure what else to say. All I know is that when I’m sitting here a year from now, I hope to look back in time and see there’s been a change for the better and I will strive to use the time I’ve got to make the most of my life and other people’s.
