Our collective soundtrack to the week.

Listen along here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLU2M3Z19rpfKCMtzWJLgoxh-ljOPvYX2h

Ruby: James White & the Blacks – Contort Yourself. Constant mental contortions required.

Charles: You Can’t Hurry Love – The Supremes. Quantity leads to quality, you can’t rush an idea!

Lucie: Crazy – Gnarls Barkley. What I have seen from you guys is that we are all crazy and that we will live amazing moments in this fucking church. I truly think I have the best time of my life, because I hated school in Paris, and I hated most of the people.

Saphire: – preach baby preach

Alysha: 4”33 by John Cage. There’s beauty in silence.

Marta: Harpers Bizarre / The Drifter. Great song from 1968. It talks about the curiosity that keeps us moving.

Lina: Mika – We are golden

Patxi: Stuck On You – Frankie Paul. Swap the lady he’s referring to with a good idea. Sticky indeed.

Josie: Cerrone – Supernature. It was in the soundtrack of a movie i saw last week and has been really fun to scamp to

Phil: The Clean – ‘Anything Could Happen’ – a great jangle-pop tune (you can listen to without having to hear Morrissey! Yay!) about optimism & the unexpected!

Max: Mr G – Crab Jerk

Alfie – Kamaal Williams – high roller. This is one from an album called ‘the return’ I like scamping to jazz works for me. The pace is just right. Lots of weird synth sounds too

Manon : Sunny Afternoon – The Kinks : One of my favorite songs on sunny days.

Mary – ‘9-5’ Dolly Parton

‘Tumble outta bed
And stumble to the kitchen
Pour myself a cup of ambition
Yawnin’ and stretchin’ and try to come to life
Jump in the shower
And the blood starts pumpin’
Out on the streets
The traffic starts jumpin’
With folks like me on the job from 9 to 5.’

Vic: Fever by the black keys. Mostly cause my weeks here at SCA have felt like a feverish dream. Exciting, tiring and at times fucking weird.

Lucy P: ‘A Mountain With No Ending (Blue Motel Remix)’ by Classsixx.

Nice to draw to, write to, daydream to. Bon Iver vocals mixed with a soft-pop electro style kinda beat. It makes me feel happy and positive when I listen to it. Plus it reminds me to keep going, keep pushing, never give up. Hence the title of the song.

Fraser: ‘High’ by Young Thug ft. Elton John

Reminds me of the exercise of taking two random things and putting them together. And sometimes they go really badly together. But sometimes they work weirdly well… much like this collaboration.

Gémina : “Bohemian Rapsody” by Queen

A classic representing quite well my actual state of mind. This song have a lot of change of rhythm, going from calm to completely crazy : that’s how I feel now.

Maddy: You Can’t Hide From Yourself by Teddy Pendergrass. Since we started, I’ve been taught to have no filter and not hold back on my thoughts and ideas. Full exposure. Also an absolute belter of a tune.

Coco: Lost in my boots – KWAYE

Feeling happily lost

Jennifer : Earth, Wind & Fire – September

One of my favorite song to help me to be more optimistic and keep smiliiiing.

Tedj : Sum 41- In Too Deep, ‘cause i’m literally in too deep, and I’m trying to keep. Love that song though, makes me wanna punch myself in the face and shout “Hell yeaaaahhhh”.

Alexis : this week I’m dancing on my own (Auto-dance by Disiz)

Joe B: Charlene – Anthony Hamilton, things are starting to become more routine and comfortable finally, this just reminds me of that feeling.. Damn that sounds lame but yeah, deal with it. p.s Ruby mate you have a ton of music to get through

Andy: White Rabbit – Jefferson Airplane.

A reminder to think about creating a skewed world where anything could happen. Very few writers could do that better than Lewis Carroll. This song will take you there. “Feed your head”.

Thomas Larthe: “Dizzee Rascal, PAGANS”, It’s my favourite English rapper and the music talk by itself

&

“Soundtrack from the movie Moonlight by Nicholas Britell”, Movie soundtracks help me a lot in the creative process, because they’re always full of emotion.

Mathieu: Tick Tok, I’m a Little Cockoo Clock

I love these musics they remember me some presentations

Joe R: Fantastic Man by William Onyeabor

because last week was fantastic, man.

Jacob: Alter Ego – Tame Impala. Great tune. Great Vibes. Great time. Still wigging out tho.

Lauren: We Bros – WU LYF doing whatever you feel and sometimes failing because it’s the time for a bit of freedom and experimentation

Charlène: Otis Redding – A change is gonna come. Everything is said in the title.

TOM; The distance- Cake. Yeah all this noise is super competitive and all that jazz but deep down it’s about putting in that extra effort, when no one’s around to see. Not for pats on the back or that shit, for yourself. I’ve learned not to try and be better than anyone else, but just to be a better version of myself than I was the day before.

Tarun: Wake up time – Tom Petty – It’s the anthem to every new beginning. Every point in your life that tells you to stand up and make a change for the better.

Camille : Frozen – Madonna. For every morning of this week.

Leonore: 3AM – Baauer x AJ Tracey x Jae Stephens; been staying up for way too long this week & also: Pass this on – The Knife; just because it’s stuck in my head
