A photo diary of the holiday break
I went home to Lebanon over the Christmas and New Year break. Here is a little photo diary of different places in Lebanon like Beirut, Batroun, Monsef…
A typical breakfast is Manousheh with cheese and zaatar. In this picture is also balila (chickpeas with cumin and olive oil) and scrambled/fried eggs:
Some street corners in Beirut that still convey the character and charm of the city:
One of the days started with a walk along the water in an area of Beirut called Raouche:
This vintage Arabic poster store is a Raouche gem:
One of my favourite restaurants in Beirut is called Tawlet. Every day a different cook (usually a grandmother) from a different region in Lebanon comes and cooks traditional food. This is a corner in the restaurant:
The sunset on December 31, 2022 in Monsef, Lebanon:
An OOH Johnny Walker poster I of course had to include:
My grandmother’s olive oil waiting for us when we arrived:
Some typical Lebanese dishes: hummus, mutabbal, kibbeh nayeh, hindbeh… And fairy floss with rose water ice cream for dessert:
