My Advertising Trajectory As Told Through Hotmail
By Lauren Peters
This scab is inordinately long and therefore justifies a contents page. Feel free to ignore elements/all of the following.
My advertising trajectory as told through hotmail
There are 37 days left until portfolio day.
That’s less than the number of job interviews I sat through since graduating in 2014.
As a fairly epic and somewhat humiliating reminder of how things have changed for me over the last couple of years, I thought I’d detail my advertising trajectory by trawling through my hotmail account for as many responses as I could find. For anyone unsure as to whether persistence is key, spoiler, it is.

All of the applications for the internship posts have now been considered and I regret to say that you have been unsuccessful at this time.
We regret to inform you that you have not been successful this time in getting through to the next stage of our selection process.
Unfortunately at this time we are not going to take your application further. This has been an extremely tough decision to make.
It is always sad that we have more good candidates than we have places to offer and it is especially sad to have to say to you that we are unable to offer you a place at this time.
27/10/14 Leo Burnett
We have now finished reviewing all applications and, after much deliberation, it is with regret that we won’t be proceeding further with your application.
Sadly, we don’t have room to offer 430 people a job and we’ve had to choose just 40 people to go through to the next stage.
Unfortunately, due to the level of response we receive for our vacancies, we are unable to inform applicants that their application has been unsuccessful.
Unfortunately we have decided to go with another applicant for the position.
We have now reviewed all the applications and unfortunately you have not been selected for interview this year.

Because there is such a high volume of interest in these roles if you have not heard back in 4 weeks, then your application has been unsuccessful.
We will forward your application on to the relevant department and if you are successful we will be in touch shortly. (Pending).
Thank you for applying for a position at Media Trust. If we wish to take your application further we will contact you within the next three weeks. (Pending).

26/06/15 St Luke’s

12/04/16 Wag TV
I’m afraid that someone else who had worked on lots of archive driven shows before has become available and we have offered them the role on World War Weird.
We really enjoyed meeting you though, we will be back in touch. (Pending).
02/07/16 Lemonade Money

Yeah remember seeing that.
Would you be free with either Thursday or Friday morning next week?
Re: Lauren is joining the ’16 intake.
Thank you for your recent interest in Cafe Customer Assistant role within Marks & Spencer, however we have noticed that despite being successful through the initial screening process you have not yet completed the next stage of the application process.
