Happy Hour – By @carlyillston
Happy Hour
So a few weeks ago, Marc asked us to find an example of hope in a community in crisis, and I didn’t have to look far to find it.
I’m currently in lockdown in Bermuda, and our island has a population of around 60,000 so it’s pretty tight knit. That means everyone looks out for each other.
When faced with social distancing, which can be a really lonely time for a lot of people, loads of Bermudian neighbourhoods decided to come together every night for a happy hour where one house plays music and everyone comes out onto their balconies or gardens to socialize.
I wanted to share a video of one of these neighbourhood parties for my SCAB this week and show you a little bit of the Bermudian spirit.
