My Insights from Hey Whipple, Squeeze This by Luke Sullivan

Having an exceptional portfolio is key

A few solid ideas and a genuine interest in the industry were all you needed to land a job with an agency many years ago. Things are different now. You better have a strong portfolio or book if you want to get your big break in this field because it has become so well-
known.

There are ways to regain your flow

Creating effective advertisements can be a very chaotic process, and it takes a lot of effort.

Try to imagine how the customer might feel after using the product by placing yourself in their shoes. When it comes to persuading people to purchase goods, emotional appeals are much more effective than logical ones.

Once you know what feeling you want to bring out, you have to put yourself in the right frame of mind.

Keep it simple and honest

Try to come up with one outstanding word that perfectly sums up the brand. Because they receive so much information constantly and have a short attention span, your audience doesn’t have time to learn
everything that your brand stands for. It’s up to you to tell them straight away, though. All you need to leave a lasting impression is one word that stands out.

Brand Image Should Be Backed Up With Actions

People don’t want to passively consume advertisements for products while watching television. Ads must be backed up by actions because consumers can doubt what businesses claim and research the truth online. Advertisers must follow through on their promises.
